The need for involvement of private institutions in the education sector is there is India from the British Rule. The reason for the involvement of private sector in professional Education is as follows,

  • Budget: The government of India provides free education to all for the children who belong to the age group of 6 to 14. This limits the government's resources for higher and professional education. To fill the space it engages the private sector in the education system.
  • Quality of the Education: Government institutions suffer from financial constraints where With better infrastructure and better quality of education private institutions tackle the problem of the quality of education. The people who can afford the fees of this institution will go for it.

GOI is encouraging private institutions in several ways which make the involvement of the private sector in professional education increased over the years.
