Critically examine the projected and not projected aids. How would you use non - projected aids in science in teaching at secondary level?

Answer:

Non projected visuals are used without any projection, they are helpful in translating abstract ideas into realistic format and moving the instruction from a verbal to a concrete level.

Charts, pictures, graphs and posters are examples of non visual aids.

PowerPoint slides, flip chart, handouts and video DVDs are visual aids. Visual aids are used with projection.

The visual media make learning motivating and easier. It helps the student to grasp content by functioning as memory aid and they are able to  relate the various information easily.

It is especially helpful while teaching science because theory is not sufficient to make the concepts clear. For example while teaching about the structure of atom, an image of atomic structure might not be enough to clarify the concept, if the same thing is taught by using video or animation it gets more realistic and understandable.
