IN THE LAST 25 YEARS 4 states have been formed by carving it out of their respective territories. Namely :

1) Chattisgarh

2) Jharkhand

3) Uttarakhand

4)Telangana

Explanation:

The formation of new states can be a result of number of factors. Such as:

• For proper distribution of resources.
• Focus on development of backward classes.
• To justify the regional demands.
• To give equal opportunity of people of the particular area.
• To overcome regional conflicts. Etc etc

Formation of Chattisgarh:

Formerly a part of Madhya pradesh, Chattisgarh was said to be subjected to high rate of exploitation. Chattisgarh has its own cultural diversity. While it was a part of the Madhya Pradesh state , some sources state that the revenue generated by Bastar region in Chattisgarh was about 120cr and the whole development fund provided for Chattisgarh region in MP state was only 5 cr. hence a crystal clear reason for the formation. of state.

Formation of Jharkhand:

Again the reason of separation of Jharkhand from Bihar in 2000 was the cultural desent of tribal community residing in the area of present Jharkhand state. The protest was always there for a separate state. But it was the BJP government who finally separated Jharkhand from Bihar in 2000.

Formation of Uttarakhand:

In 2000 itself Uttarakhand was carved out of Uttar Pradesh to form a new state. It was also a seasoned protest from the people of Uttarakhand hilly region. The main objective of the formation of Uttarakhand was the overall development of that particular hilly region and upgrading the economical status of the respective people residing there. Under the leadership of Atal ji BJP carved it out of UP.

Formation of Telangana:

It is the most recently formed state of India. It was formed in the year 2014 by the UPA government. The demand for the separate state was actually from the beginning of the epochs of state reorganisation. The opinions on the division of Telangana still stand differentiated.

The objectives of all the states have been achieved in there own way. Apart from Telangana which is just 5 years old all other states are on there way to development. Telangana being a newly formed state only time can justify it's the competetion of it's objective.
