Explanation:

Political thinkers approach their critique of democracy from different perspectives. Many do not necessarily oppose democracy—"rule of the people"—but, rather, seek to expand or question its popular definition.

Criticism and limitations of democracy-

• Criticism and limitations of the democracy are the two sides of a same coin because the limitations of the democracy are the subjects of criticism for the democracy itself.

Limitations:

1) The scopes of corruption is way higher in the democracy due to the open equality and liberty for everyone living under a democratic system.

2) The democratic system is totally controlled by the public elected government.

The government controls the enormous amount of population and that's why the direct communication between the public and government is sometimes a major drawback.

3) Democracy also leads to competition between political parties which diverts the efforts of these political parties from the development works to their own competitive success.

The above mentioned limitations and drawbacks are the main subjects of criticism of a democratic system.
