Answer:This is because of the following reason

  • if same crop is sown for years together the crop consumes same kind of minerals from the soil..later the soil will be deficient of that particular minerals. for example : rice needs potassium , phosphorous and , nitrogen to grow.so it absorbs those minerals from the soil. if the farmer  continuously  sow the rice crop then minerals like potassium , nitrogen  , phosphorus  are completely absorbed by the crop and the soil becomes infertile.

Answer:

  • If a same particular crop is sown all the time some particular nutrients used by the crop will be absorbed and hence the soil becomes deficient of that particular nutrient .
  • Secondly, the crops like Bengal gram, Green gram and Ground nut are Leguminous which means their roots contain nitrogen fixing bacteria ( called as Rhizobhium ), which renew atmospheric nitrogen into the ground directly .
