It protects the internal leaf tissue by preventing excessive water loss through evaporation lower epidermis contain Stomata which help in the gaseous exchange in plant
2) Stomata : these are tiny pores mostly found in the lower epidermis they allow Gases to enter and exit the leaf more rapidly between the plant and atmosphere
