Hello !

Correct Question :-

two cross roads each of 2m wide run at right angles through the centre of a rectangular park 72m by 48m such that each is parallel to one of the sides of the rectangle .FIND the area of the crossroads of the remaining potion

SolutiOn :-

Area of first crossroad which is rectangular = l × b

Hence, Area = 72m × 2m × = 144m^2

Area of second crossroad which is rectangular = l × b

Hence, Area = 48m × 2m = 96m^2

Area of middle part which is square shaped

=> 2m × 2m

=> 4m^2

Area of crossroad = ( 144 + 96 ) m^2 - 4m^ 2

=> 240 m^2 - 4m^2 = 236 m^2

Therefore, The area of the crossroads of the remaining potion is 236 m^2 .
