QuestioN :

CSA of a cylindrical piller is 132 cm square and its volume is 99m cube find the daimeter and height of piller.

GiveN :

  • CSA of cylinder = 132 cm²
  • Volume = 99 m³

To fiNd:

  • Diameter
  • Height of pillar

ANswer:

Height of piller = 14 m

SolutioN :

CSA of cylinder = 2 π r h

⇒ 132 = 2 π r h

⇒ π r h = 132 ÷ 2

⇒ π × r × h = 66    → → → [Equation 1]

For finding Volume:

Volume of Cylinder = π r² h

⇒ 99 = π × r × h × r

From Equation 1,

⇒ 99 = 66r

⇒ r = 99 ÷ 66

⇒ r = 1.5

Diameter = 2 × Radius

⇒ Diameter = 2 × 1.5

∴ Diameter = 3 m

Now, Substitute value of radius in Equation 1;

π × r × h = 66

\frac{22}{7} *\frac{3}{2} *h=66\\\\\frac{66h}{14} =66\\\\h=\frac{66*14}{16} \\\\h=14\:m

∴Height of piller = 14 m
