Question :

What is Valency of Cu in Cu(OH)₂ ?

To Find :

Valency of Cu

Answer : +2

Explanation :

We know valency of O is -2 and H is 1

Let Cu be "x"

x + (-2 + 1 )₂ = 0

x + (-4) + (2) = 0

x - 4 + 2 = 0

x - 2 = 0

x = 0 + 2

x = 2

Hence valency of Cu in Cu(OH)₂ is +2

Regards :)
