l l Question l l

What is the molar mass of C6 H12 O6 ( Glucose ) and the molar mass of MnO⁴?

Solution:

1. We know that,

  • C = 12 u

  • H = 1 u

  • O = 16 u

Now,

Molar mass of glucose = C6 H12 O6

= 12 × 6 + 1 × 12 + 16 × 6

= 72 + 12 + 96

= 84 + 96

= 180 u

Hence, molecular mass of glucose is 180 u .

2. We know that,

  • Mn = 54.93 u

  • O = 16 u

Molar mass of MnO3 = MnO3

= 54.93 + 16 × 3

= 54.93 + 48

= 102.93 u

Hence, molecular mass of MnO3 is 102.93 u .

Heya!!

_________________________________________

Given,

➡️C6H12O6

➡️MnO4

To Find:-

Molar Mass.

Calculations:-

1)C6H12O6

Carbon =C=12u

Hydrogen=H=1u

Oxygen=O=16u

Molar mass = C6H12O6

=(12×6)(1×1)(16×6)

=72+12+96

\boxed{180u}

---------------------------------------------------------

2)MnO4

Mn = 54.93 u

O = 16u

Molar Mass = MnO4

= 54.93+(16×4)

=54.93+ 64

\boxed{118.93u}

so,

Molar mass of C6H12O6 is 180u

Molar mass of MnO4 is 118.93u

Molar Mass:- Molar mass is the mass of a given substance divided by the amount of that substance, measured in g/mol.

Molar mass is a ratio that is used to convert a mass measurement to an amount of substance.

It is the ratio between the mass of something and the number of particles that form it.
