GIVEN ;-

⇒ Sphere and cube = same height

TO FIND ;-

⇒ Ratio of their volumes = ?

SOL ;-

In the question it is given that the height of the sphere and cube are same - so this mean that their side of the cube will be also equal to the diametre of the sphere,

                        ⇒ a = d

So to find out the answer for this sum , we need to use the given formula to find out their ratio - that is -

⇒ Volume of sphere        :        Volume of  cube

                    ⇒ (4/3) × π × r³              :           a³

                    ⇒ (4/3)× π× r                 :          (2r)³

                    ⇒ (4/3) × π × r³              :          8 × r³

                    ⇒ (4 /3) × (22/7)             :            8

                   ⇒ (88 /21 )                      :             8

                   ⇒ (11/21)                        :             1

                   ⇒     11                          :             21

So the answer is 11 : 21

nitthesh7: it is wrong u must do Ratio of cube and sphere (not Ratio of Sphere and cube). Hope understand and edit ur ans

From the Question,

Side of cube (a) = Radius of Sphere (2r)
__________________________________________________________

Then, Ratio of their volumes = Volume of Cube / Volume of Sphere

                                              = (a³) / (4/3 π r³)

                                              = (2 r)³ / (4/3 π r³)

Then r³ and r³ get cancelled,

                                              = 8 / (4/3 π)

                                              = 8 × 3 / 4 π

                                              = 2 × 3 / π

                                               = 6 / π  (or) 42/22 (or) 21/11
