cube of side length 8 cm is immersed completely in a rectangular vessel containing water if the base is 16 cm long and 10 cm wide then find the rise in water level in the vessel​

Now this volume of water is to be represented in a rectangular vessel having 20 cms length, 10 centimeters breadth, the height of water column is to find out :

The volume of the rectangular is = l * b * height, here is the working :

20 * 10 * height = 512 (equal to the displaced water), or

height = 512 / 200 = 2.56 centimeters

The rise of water level in the rectangular vessel is : 2.56 centimeters. is the answer.
