The given chemical equation is

CuO + H₂ -----------> Cu + H₂O

1) Oxidation: H₂ → H₂O (oxidation state of H goes up from 0 to +1)

2) Reduction: CuO → Cu (oxidation state of Cu decreases from +2 to 0)

3) Oxidising agent: CuO (as it is the substance reduced)

4) Reducing agent: H₂ (as it is the one that is oxidised)

Hope it helps!!
