GIVEN:

  • Radius of the circular base of the cylinder = 7 cm
  • radius of the circular base of the cone = 7 cm
  • Height of the cylinder = 20 cm
  • Height of the cone = 3 cm

TO FIND:

  • What is the cost of milk to fill completely this vessel the rate of Rs. 20 litre ?

SOLUTION:

Radius of Cylindrical part is 7cm and height of Cylindrical part is 20 cm

To find the Volume of cylinder, we use the formula:-

\bf\red{Volume \: of \: cylinder = π r^2 h }

Take π = 22/7

Putting the values in the formula, we get

\sf{\mapsto Volume =  \frac{22}{7} \times (7)^2 \times 20}

\sf{\mapsto Volume = \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times 7 \times 20}

\sf{\mapsto Volume =  22 \times 7 \times 20}

\sf{\mapsto Volume =  154 \times 20 }

\bf\red{\mapsto \: \star \: Volume = 3080 \: cm^3 \: \star }

❛ Volume of cylinder is 3080 cm³ ❜

Radius of Conical part is 7cm and height of Conical part is 3 cm

To find the Volume of Cone, we use the formula:-

\bf\red{Volume \: of \: cone = \frac{1}{3} π r^2 h }

Take π = 22/7

Putting the values in the formula, we get

\sf{\mapsto Volume =  \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{22}{7} \times (7)^2 \times 3}

\sf{\mapsto Volume =  \frac{1}{3} \times \frac{22}{7} \times 7 \times 7 \times 3}

\sf{\mapsto Volume = 22 \times 7}

\bf\red{\mapsto \: \star \: Volume = 154 \: cm^3 \: \star }

❛ The volume of cone is 154 cm³ ❜

Total Volume of Vessel = Volume of Cylinder Volume of cone

\sf{ \rightharpoonup 3080 - 154 }

\bf\red{\mapsto \: \star \: Total \: Volume = 2926 \: cm^3 \: \star }

❛ The total Volume of Vessel is 2926 cm³ ❜

If rate of each litre is Rs. 20:

Then,

\sf{2926 \times 20}

\bf\red{ \: \star \: Rs. \: 58520 \: \star }

❛ Hence, the cost of milk to fill completely this vessel is Rs. 58520
