EXPLANATION.

Curved surface area of a cone = 308 cm².

Slant height of a cone = 14 cm.

As we know that,

Formula of :

Curved surface area of cone = πrl.

Total surface area of cone = πr(l + r).

Using this formula in the equation, we get.

Curved surface area of cone = πrl.

⇒ 22/7 x r x 14 = 308.

⇒ 22 x r x 2 = 308.

⇒ 22 x r = 154.

⇒ r = 7 cm.

Radius of the base of cone = 7 cm.

Total surface area of cone = πr(l + r).

⇒ 22/7 x 7 (14 + 7).

⇒ 22 x (21).

⇒ 462 cm².

Total surface area of the cone = 462 cm².
