Given

  • Curved surface area of cylinder = 440cm²
  • Circumference of its base = 44cm

Find out

  • Volume of cylinder

Solution

As we know that

Circumference of circle = 44 cm

➡ 2πr = 44

➡ πr = 44/2

➡ 22r/7 = 22

➡ r = 7 × 22/22

➡ r = 7 cm

  • Hence, radius of cylinder is 7cm

C.S.A of cylinder = 440cm²

2πrh = 44

➡ Circumference of circle × height = 440

➡ 44 × h = 440 {Given}

➡ h = 440/44

➡ h = 10 cm

Volume of cylinder

➡ πr²h

➡ 22/7 × (7)² × 10

➡ 22/7 × 49 × 10

➡ 22 × 7 × 10

➡ 1540 cm³

Additional Information

  • Volume of cone = ⅓ πr²h
  • Volume of cuboid = length × breadth × height
  • Volume of cube = a³
  • Volume of sphere = 4/3 πr³

Curved surface area of a cylinder is 440 sq cm. [Given]

\bf{\underline{\underline \green{So:}}}

  • 2πrh = 440

➠ 2 × (22/7) × 7 × h = 440

➠ Height = 440/44

➠ Height = 10 Cm

\bf{\underline{\underline \green{ThereFore:}}}

  • The height of the cylinder = 10 Cm.
