GIVEN :-

  • Curved surface area of right circular cylinder is 4.4 m².
  • Radius of base of the cylinder is 0.7 m.

TO FIND :-

  • The height of the cylinder.

SOLUTION :-

 \\: \implies \displaystyle \sf C.S.A  \: of \:  right \:  circular  \: cylinder = 2\pi rh \\  \\  \\

: \implies \displaystyle \sf  4.4 = 2 \times  \dfrac{22}{7}  \times 0.7 \times h \\  \\  \\

: \implies \displaystyle \sf 4.4 =  \dfrac{44}{7}  \times 0.7 \times h \\  \\  \\

: \implies \displaystyle \sf 4.4 =  \dfrac{44}{10}  \times h \\  \\  \\

: \implies \displaystyle \sf 4.4 = 4.4h \\  \\  \\

: \implies \displaystyle \sf h \: =\dfrac{4.4}{4.4}  \\  \\  \\

: \implies  \underline{ \boxed{\displaystyle \sf h \:  = 1m}} \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \bigg \lgroup \displaystyle \sf \: height \: \bigg \rgroup \\  \\

\therefore \underline{\displaystyle \sf Height  \: of  \: the  \: right  \: circular \:  cylinder \:  is  \: 1 m.} \\ \\

Given:

  • The curved Surface area of an right circular cylinder is 4.4m²
  • Radius of the base is 0.7m

Find:

  • Height of the cylinder

Solution:

Here, we, know that

\underline{\boxed{ \rm Curved  \: Surface \:  Area \:  of  \: cylinder = 2 \pi r h}}

where,

  • π = 22/7
  • Curved surface area = 4.4m²
  • Radius = 0.7m

So,

\rm \implies Curved  \: Surface \:  Area \:  of  \: cylinder = 2 \pi rh

\rm \implies 4.4= 2  \times  \frac{22}{7}   \times 0.7 \times h

\rm \implies 4.4= 2  \times  \frac{22}{7}   \times  \frac{7}{10}  \times h

\rm \implies 4.4=  \frac{308}{70}  \times h

\rm \implies 4.4 \times  \frac{70}{308} =h

\rm \implies  \frac{44}{10} \times  \frac{70}{308} =h

\rm \implies  \frac{3080}{3080}=h

 \underline{\boxed{\rm \implies h = 1m}}

Hence, the height of the cylinder is 1m
