Given

Radius of cone is 10cm

Perpendicular height of cone is 6cm

To Find

Curved surface area

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

We have given radius and perpendicular height but we haven't given the value of slant height so,we first calculate slant height which can be used in finding curved surface area of cone.

slant height is denoted by ' l '

'h' is height and 'r' is radius

l²=h²+r²

=>l²=6²+10²

=>l²=36+100

=>l²=136

=>l=√136=11.66cm

Now,curved surface area of cone (CSA)=π r l

=>22/7×10×11.66

=>3.14×10×11.66

=>31.4×11.66

=>366.12cm²

Therefore,curved surface area of cone is 366.12cm²

Extra information=>

Total surface area of cone =πrl+πr²

Volume of cone=1/3πr²h

  • Curved surface means area occupy by an 3D object only curved surface excluding its top and bottom.
  • Total surface area means the total area occupy by an 3D object including its top and bottom surface.
