Here is your answer mate..

Lord curzon divided Bengal,,, they gave the reason that Bengal is very massive to rule by a 1 ruler ( It's just a excuse ) , the main reason is that they want to break the unity of hindu and Muslim in Bengal and in Bengal is seen to be a major place where the ideas of revolt started.
