Cuscuta (Amarbel) does not have chlorophyll. How does it obtain its food?

It has heterotrophic mode of nutrition. It is parasite plant. It depends on another plant on which it is climbing and fulfil it's need of food.

cuscuta does not have chlorophyll it takes ready ready - made food from the plant on which it is climbing . The plant on which it is climbing is called a host . Cascuta takes its food from the host plant and deprives the host of those valuable nutrients.
