Question: Cuscuta is without leaves and without chlorophyll.Justify the statement.

Solution: Yes, Cuscuta is without leaves and without chlorophyll.

Well, to be frank, Cuscuta is a parasitic plant and it performs parasitic mode of nutrition.

In Parasitic mode of nutrition the parasitic plant deprives valuable nutrients from the host plant.

That is why cuscuta is without leaves and chlorophyll, it also doesn't need to prepare its own food by the process of photosynthesis.

Hence it can survive without leaves and chlorophyll.
