It's an example of double displacement reaction.

A double-replacement reaction occurs when parts of two ionic compounds are exchanged, making two new compounds. A characteristic of a double-replacement equation is that there are two compounds as reactants and two different compounds as products.

CuSO_{4}\:+\:Fe ---> FeSO_{4}\:+\:Cu

It is a type of \textbf{Displacement Reaction.}

 Displacement\: Reaction\::

In which a most reactive element displaces less reactive element from it's aqueous solution is known as Displacement Reaction...

In above reaction Iron (Fe) is more reactive than Copper (Cu) that's why it displaces CuSO_{4} from it's solution and forms a new compound i.e. FeSO_{4}
