CuSO4 lack colour. CuSO4.5H20 contain water of crystallisation which gives it the blur colour.

Explanation :-

By the way CuSO4.5H2O is known as BLUE VITROL

It's colour is blue because it has 5 Molecules of Water in it and if we Heat CuSO4.5H2O it's blue colour will get faded .

Moreover , This is also an example of Water of Crystallisation .

Also , as compared to CuSO4.2H2O or .3H2O or . 4H2O , CuSO4.5H2O is the darkest blue as it has larger concentration of H2O molecules.
