This phrase means that we all have a limit acording to our abilities and we should not cross that limit and if we do so it would affect our live adversely.
As the example says if we cut our cloth acording to our size it will fit us but if we cut it smaller or bigger it will not.
Planning a family is a task which includes planning based on our income,assets, abilities and other strengths.
