In plants cuticles are produced by the epidermal cells of leaves ,young shoots and all the aerial parts of plant .This minimizes the water loss and reduces the chances of infection by secreting a waxy substance that does not allows entry of pathogen .Cuticles are made of the polymer cutin .Cuticles functions in two ways one is preventing the loss of water and other prevents the plant from drying by proving moisture.
