Answer:

LGBT people in the workplace

The LBGT community has come a long way fighting against discriminations. Once they were looked upon with disgust, hatred, and discrimination. In many countries today, they feel more confident and progress within the business.

Most of Europe and the US relatively accept the LGBT community. But there is still a long way to go because being in the minority group openly display their homosexuality preference and this coul lead to prison, torture and death.

When we deal with or communicate with LBGT community, we must remember that they are not looking for publicity. We must accept them for who they are. It is acceptance they wished for and not pity or sympathetic.

They still suffer discrimination and stigma still due to a widespread lack of understanding of the issue. They still cannot be open to what they are for fear of losing their jobs and being ridiculed.

A company that can pledge its support to employees irrespective of their skin colour, gender or sexuality preference. When they do this they are setting up an industry standard that can pave the way for change across society.

Companies can create an inclusive atmosphere in the work place. And ultimately will accept them without discrimination in society. What we all require is an open mind and responsible way of life.

In conclusion, education is the key, as is the desire to embrace people for who they are, not who they love. Once that is covered, the rest will follow.
