Velocity of cyclists = 10m/s

We have been given that :-

  • Cyclist starts from rest, this:
  • Initial velocity = 0m/s
  • Acceleration = 2m/s^2
  • Velocity after 5s = v = ?

By the first equation of motion we know that, the final velocity of a body is the sum of its initial velocity and product of acceleration and time. It is represented by the equation :-

\red{\mid{\underline{\overline{\textbf{v = u + at}}}\mid}}

In this equation :-

  1. v = Final velocity
  2. u = Initial velocity
  3. a = acceleration
  4. t = time taken to Accelerate.

Now after inputting the known values in given equation we get that :

\red{\mid{\underline{\overline{\textbf{v = 0 + 2( 5)}}}\mid}}

v = 0 + 10 \\  \\ v = 10

Therefore we get final velocity of cyclist to be :- 10m/s^2 .
