cyclists are travelling around a track at 14m/s. when they leave it they accelerate from 14m/s to 18m/s at a steady rate, which takes them 3 seconds. what distance did they travel in this time?

= 18m/s - 14m/s

s = ut + 1/2 at²

= 14m/s (3 ) + 1/2 (4m/s × 3² )

= 14 m/s ×3 + 2 ×9

= 14×3+ 18

= 60 m distance
