(i) Initial speed of with which water flows from orifice:

v =  √2gh

 = √ 2*10*5

  = 10 m/s

(ii) the speed with which water strikes the ground

According to the conservation theory:

v'^2 = v^2+ 2gH

     = 100+2*10*5

     = 200

v'= 14.1 m/s
