The Cyanide reacts vigorously .
Reaction with liquid water can produce dangerous amounts of HCN in confined spaces. They are both soluble in water. Reaction with acids quickly produces large quantities of toxic, flammable hydrogen cyanide gas. Sodium and potassiumcyanide are both highly toxic via inhalation, ingestion and skin absorption.

Uses--------
In manufacturing, cyanide is used to make paper, textiles, and plastics. It is present in the chemicals used to develop photographs. Cyanide salts are used in metallurgy for electroplating, metal cleaning, and removing gold from its ore.Cyanide gas is used to exterminate pests and vermin in ships and buildings
HOPE THIS HELPS !! THANK YOU
