⇒Since DE ║ BC, AB is a transversal.

Hence ∠DAB = ∠ABC

60° = ∠ABC

⇒ Since, AB = AC, ∠ABC = ∠ACB (∵Equal sides form equal angles)

60° = ∠y

⇒In ΔABC, ∠A = x, ∠B = 60° and ∠C = y

Hence, ∠A + ∠B + ∠C = 180° (∵Angle Sum Property)

x + 60° + y = 180°

x + 60° + 60° = 180°

x + 120° = 180°

x = 180° - 120°

x = 60°

Hence the value of x and y both is 60°. So, we can also say that triangle ABC is an equliateral triangle.
