by law of conservation of mass ...total mass of reactants and total mass of products should be equal.

let X grams of silver nitrate reacts with 1.16g of NaCl to produce 2.87g of AgCl

and 1.7g of sodium nitrate

  • mass of reactants= 1.16+X g
  • mass of products= 4.57g

1.16+X=4.57

X=4.57-1.16

X=3.41grams
