Given : Salaries of Rohan and Nishant are in the ratio 2:3.

salary of each is increased by Rs.5000, the new ratio becomes 40 : 57.

To Find : What is Nishant' salary?

A. Rs.48.000

B. Rs.42.000

C. Rs.46,000

Rs.47,500

Solution:

Salaries of Rohan = 2K

Salaries of  Nishant = 3K

salary of each is increased by Rs.5000

2K + 5000  : 3K + 5000  =  40 : 57

=>(2K + 5000)/( 3K + 5000)  =  40 /57

=> 57(2K + 5000) = 40( 3K + 5000)

=> 114K + 57(5000) = 120K + 40(5000)

=> 6K = 17 (5000)

=> 3K = 17(2500)

=> 3K = 42500

Salaries of  Nishant =42500
