SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The initial velocity of an object which travels a distance of

 \sf{10 {t}^{2}  + 15t + 5}

along a straight line in time t

EVALUATION

Let S be the distance covered and V be the velocity of the object at any time t

Then

 \sf{S = 10 {t}^{2}  + 15t + 5} \:  \: .....(1)

Then velocity is given by

 \displaystyle \sf{V =  \frac{dS}{dt}  }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: V =  \frac{d}{dt}  \bigg( 10 {t}^{2}  + 15t + 5\bigg) }

 \displaystyle \sf{ \implies \: V =  20t + 15 }

Hence the required initial velocity

 =  \displaystyle \sf{ V \bigg| _{t =0}  }

 = (20 \times 0) + 15

 = 15

Hence the initial velocity = 15 unit
