Given:-

The radius and the height of the cone and the cylinder are equal.

To find:-

The relation between their volumes.

Solution:-

Let the radius of the cone and the cylinder be r and h respectively.

The volume of cone = \frac{1}{3}πr^2h

and, volume of the cylinder = πr^2\\h

Comparing both volumes,

\frac{1}{3}πr^2h = πr^2h

We can see that the volume of cone is \frac{1}{3} ^{rd} the volume of cylinder,

Hence, we can see that the volume of cylinder is three times the volume of a cone.
