I think it's a triangle so to find the another side we have to use Pythagoras theorem when two sides are given.

d(ac)²=d(ab)²+d(bc)²

let's consider ab =12cm and bc =5cm

therefore d(ac)²=d(12cm)²+d(5cm)²

d(ac)²=144+25

d(ac)²=169

ac=13
