D and E are midpoints of BC and AD of triangle ABC . If area of triangle ABC=20 sq cm, find area of Triangle EBD.

Now, ar(ebd) : 1/2*ED*BD
1/2*AD/2*BC/2
1/8*AD*BC
1/8* 40
Area of triangle EBD : 5cm²

you are given D and E are the mid pts of Bc and AD

also,,, AREA OF triangle ABC= 20 sq cm

now let's us draw BE but as a median ..

now we know that a median divides in two equal areas
also let AD IS another median
now,, if AD Is the median then area of triangle ABD= 1÷2AREA ABC

THAT is the area of triangle ABC = 20 sq cm
so area of triangle ABD = 20÷2
= 10CM square

now, , we had also taken BE AS median
so area of triangle EBD= 1÷2AREA ABD

THAT is area EBC= 10 ÷2
= 5 cm square

theirfore ,, the required area of triangle EBD= 5cm square
