D. Answer the following questions in brief.
in the following situations, identify the agent exerting the force. Also, se
the effect of the force in each case.
(a) Squeezing a piece of lemon between the fingers to extract its juice.
(b) A person diving into a swimming pool.
(c) A labourer moving a loaded cart.
(d) A car coming to rest once its engine is switched off.
(e) An athelete making a high jump to clear a bar kept at a certain height.​

Answer:

(a) The agent that is exerting the force is your muscular force(applied by your fingers)

Result/effect: lemon deforms and its juice is extracted.

(b) The agent is the muscular force you apply by your feet and push the ground to dive in the pool.

Result: You cut through the water and their is a bit of splash. as water displaces.

(c) He uses his muscular force to push the cart by actually pushing the ground with his feet which applies equal force to him and he and cart moves forward(newton's 3rd law).

Result: He can move the cart.

(d) The agent are the breaks applied or the friction between car's wheels and ground.

Result: Car!'s engine coold down and obviously it stops... :-|

(e) He/she uses his/her leg's muscular force to jump and cross the bar kept at the height.

Result: he is able to jump above it and falls down on the other side.
