In this method we dissolve the mixture in water. Salt gets dissolved but sand doesn't get dissolved. Now leave the container for sometime. The sand settles down but salt doesn't. Now we have two options. We can either use Decantation which is less effective or filtration which is more effective. Using filtration we have separated sand from salt solution. Now let's allow the salt solution to evaporate. One can also heat the solution. Hence after evaporation or vapourization we have separated the contents of the initial mixture.
