  1. Periodization is the process or study of categorizing the past into discrete, quantified named blocks of time. This is usually done in order to facilitate the study and analysis of history, understanding current and historical processes, and causality that might have linked those events.
  2. Interpretations differ because they are written for different audiences. Historians select information and when they write they can distort information to make their arguments stronger. Historians change their views when they discover new evidence.
  3. Official records: The official records are the documents that the government kept with them, in other words, these were the documents in which all the policies or projects of the government were registered. The official records were mainly kept by the British government.
