D. Give reasons for the following:
1. Altitude of the Sun varies at a place according to
seasons.
2. Seasons are reversed in Northern and Southern
Hemisphere.
3. Days and nights are equal at all places on the Earth
on March 21.
4. Winds get deflected from their normal path.
5. The region beyond Arctic Circle is known as the
"Land of Midnight Sun'.
6. The speed of rotation at Singapore is much faster
than that at Tokyo or Russia.
7. Mid-day Sun can be seen overhead in Chennai
twice a year, but not even once in Delhi. Why?
8. The Poles experience six-month day and six-month
night.
9. Noon is hotter than morning.
10. The variation in the lengths of day and night goes
on increasing towards Poles.
11. The Sun is never overhead beyond the Tropics.
12. The regions, near North Pole and South Pole, have
six months of continuous day-light and darkness.

I will tell u all the reasons but plzz follow me and mark as brainliest answer..plzz

  1. The altitude of the midday sun is related to a latitude of a place. Because of seasonal changes in the altitude of the sun at different latitudes, the altitude of midday sun also varies..
  2. Regardless of the time of year, the northern and southern hemisphere always experience opposite seasons. This is because during summer or winter, one part of planet is more directly exposed to the rays of sun than the other and this exposure alternates as the Earth revolves in its orbit
  3. Days and nights are equal at all places on earth on march 21 because on this day sun rays will fall in the vertical direction towards the equator or at the centre position of the earth. This supplies the equal light distribution from pole to pole which makes the day and night duration same.
  4. Because the earth rotates on its axis, circulating air is deflected towards the right in the northern hemisphere and towards the left in the southern hemisphere. This deflection is also called Coriolis effect
  5. Because northern part of Norway is beyond the Arctic circle where the sunlight remains for she months from March to September, so it is called the Land of midnight sun due to sunlight seen at night.
  6. The speed of rotation at Singapore is much faster than that at Tokyo and Russia as the speed of rotation is Maximum at the equator and goes on decreasing towards the poles and finally is minimum at the poles.
  7. Midday sun can be seen overhead in Chennai twice a year, but not even once in Delhi because Chennai is midday between the equator and the tropic of Cancer.
  8. The seasons are caused by earth's tilt. As Earth orbits the sun, for roughly six months during the year, the northern and southern axis-the poles are tilted towards sun. So when the tilt is away from the sun, the sun will not be seen at all. The sun will be seen only when the tilt is towards the sun.
  9. Because at noon, the sun is vertically overhead. These are the vertical rays of the sun at noon and the slanting rays in the morning.
  10. It is because the amount of solar energy i.e the rays of the sun, gets on decreasing as it reaches the poles. The areas near the equator experience equal duration of day and night than the areas away from the equator.
  11. The sun is never overhead beyond the tropics due to latitudes. The sun's rays always fall directly on 0° latitude which is known as the equator. The sun's rays can be experienced overhead toll the tropic of Cancer and Capricorn in the northern and southern hemisphere of the earth respectively.
  12. The earth is titled on its axis, because of which very poor sunlight is allowed to reach the north and south poles. When the north pole is titled towards the sun, it experiences continuous daylight for six months and when the pole is titled on other side, it experiences continuous night for six months.....
