- this is because copper is less reactive than iron due to which it is not able to replace iron from the solution
- metals act as reducing agents because they have a tendency to donate electrons and get oxidized
- ionic bond is formed by transfer of transfer of electrons, during this process of donating and receiving both oxidisation and reduction take place simultaneously. therefore it is called a Redbox reaction.
- this is because it helps compare the reactivities of the metals. the metals placed above hydrogen in the series can displace it from the acid.
