Answers
Answer:
1. Cotton and wheat are not grown in the same area because both the crops require high nutritional value and fertility rate should be more both the crops use more amount of nutrients present in the soil.
2. Dairy farms try to be close to cities because that is usually where the packaging and processing plants for the milk are. They can not be too close though because most dairy farms typically grow their own forage crops for their dairy cows. This takes considerable land.
3. Shifting Agriculture leads to distruction of forests because the actual unsustainable shifting cultivation creates a lot of inverse consequences. The environmental effects include forest and land degradation and deforestation, followed by forest product impoverishment, soil erosion and downstream effects.
4. Subsistence farmers generally do not use high yielding seeds because high yielding seeds only care about high yield and mostly they are not good for our health. As subsistence farmers use their crops for consumption, they doesn't compromise with their life and hence, they don't use high yielding seeds.
5. The introduction of high-yielding varieties of seeds and the increased use of chemical fertilizers and irrigation led to the increase in production needed to make the country self-sufficient in food grains, thus improving agriculture in India.
