The beggar man in the studio of Alan Trevor looked like a bent old man with a wrinkled face and the saddest expression. He had worn a course brown cloak on his shoulders. His thick boots were patched and with one hand he leant on a rough stick, while with other he held out his battered hat for alms.

Hughie was first angry because Alan had told Baron Hausberg everything about him but then he was highly embarrassed after knowing that the beggar was a millionaire.

A wedding present by Baron Hausberg which was a cheque of 10000 pounds.
