Dihybrid cross is a cross between 2 different genes that differ in 2 different traits. When a cross is made between homozygous dominant (AABB) and recessive (aabb) parents, the F1 progeny will be heterozygous dominant (AaBb). This F1 progeny of Mendelian dihybrid cross produces 4 types of gametes, namely AB, Ab, aB and ab. The progeny of F2 generation will produce four types of phenotype and the ratio will be 9:3:3:1.
