Science and 10% failed in both subject. Find the -
i) Percentage of passed candidates.
ii) The total no of candidates appeared if 462 candidate
have passed.​

n(sUt) = n(s)+n(t)-n(s n t)

= 30 + 25 - 10

i)% of candidates who passed

=100-45 = 55%

ii) let total no. of candidates be x

55% of x= 462

0.55x =462

x= 462/.55=840

total no of candidates appeared =840
