D is a point on the circumference of a circum circle of ABC in AB = AC such that B and D are on opposite sides of AC. If CD is produced to point E such that CE = BD, prove that AD=AE

⏩ We have,

AB=AC and CE=BD

In ∆'s ABD and ACE, we have

→ AB=AC (Given)

→angle ABD= angle ACE (angles in the same segment)

→BD= CE (Given)

So, by SAS congruence criterion, we obtain

∆ ABD is congruent to ∆ ACE

=> AD= AE (CPCT)
