angle ADB > angle ACD

[ where angle ADB is an exterior angle and exterior angle is always greater than each inferior angle]

Now the opposite side of angle ADB is AB

and the opposite side of angle ACD is AD

=> angle ADB > angle ACD

=> AB >AD (proved)
