Answer:

1-saliva-The digestive functions of saliva include moistening food, and helping to create a food bolus, so it can be swallowed easily. Saliva contains the enzyme amylase that breaks some starches down into maltose and dextrin. Thus, digestion of food occurs within the mouth, even before food reaches the stomach..

b) oesophagus-The esophagus is a long, thin, and muscular tube that connects the pharynx (throat) to the stomach. It forms an important piece of the gastrointestinal tract and functions as the conduit for food and liquids that have been swallowed into the pharynx to reach the stomach..

c)tongue-The tongue is vital for chewing and swallowing food, as well as for speech. The four common tastes are sweet, sour, bitter, and salty. A fifth taste, called umami, results from tasting glutamate (present in MSG). The tongue has many nerves that help detect and transmit taste signals to the brain..

d)liver-Functions of the liver. The liver regulates most chemical levels in the blood and excretes a product called bile. This helps carry away waste products from the liver. All the blood leaving the stomach and intestines passes through the liver...

q2-Digestion: The food is digested in the food vacuole with the help of enzymes. Absorption: It is then absorbed in the cytoplasm of the Amoeba by diffusion. Assimilation: The absorbed food provides energy and a part of nutrition is used for growth. Egestion: The undigested and the waste food particles are thrown out....

Q3-Infection is spread through contaminated food or drinking-water, or from person-to-person as a result of poor hygiene. Interventions to prevent diarrhoea, including safe drinking-water, use of improved sanitation and hand washing with soap can reduce disease risk........

q4-Conclusion: Since test tube B has boiled rice which were chewed for 3-5 minutes, the saliva present in mouth has acted upon starch to break down into sugars. ... Boiled rice in test tube A has not been exposed to saliva, so starch is present which is indicated by blue-black colour on addition of iodine solution....
