Answer
Acd. to pythagorous theorem
(Base)^2 +(Height)^2= (Hypotenuse)^2
(12×12) +( 37 ×37) = (Hypotenuse)^2
144+1369= (Hypotenuse)^2
1513 =(Hypotenuse)^2
38.9=Hypotenuse
^2 means square

Answer:
Consider a triangle ABC, with B as tha right angle.
According to the question,
The length of ladder= 37m (This is the hypotenuese - AC)
&
Distance between the building and ladder = 12m ( BC )
We need to find AB i.e. the height at which the ladder would reach.
Using Pythagoras Theorem,
We can say that
AB^2 + BC^2 = AC^2
Therefore-:
AB^2= AC^2 - BC^2
AB^2= 37^2 - 12^2
AB^2= 1369 - 144
AB^2= 1225
Ans = 35m
